Run to win the prize: the nature of warnings in New Testament theology
Professor Tom Schreiner
Discipline. Endurance. Perseverance. The New Testament often describes the Christian life as a marathon, a race set before us. But what exactly is the prize? And can it be lost? What is the biblical understanding of the nature of saving faith and its implications for the people of God?
At this year's School, Professor Schreiner covered a wide-ranging set of biblical material and responses to that material. It is particularly useful to hear his reflections on the way scripture warns us about disbelief, and the relationship between election and the new covenant.
