Persuasive preaching

A Passion for Life resource

Oak Hill School of Preaching 2010
Wednesday 24 February, 10.00am–4.00pm

Easter 2010 sees the climax of months of praying, planning and training in many churches, as we work together in the nationwide Passion for Life initiative. Whatever else you are planning, you will have to do some evangelistic preaching, and we want to help you brush up your skills in time for this great opportunity.

Dr David Cook from Sydney Missionary Bible College (SMBC) will be joining us for a day focusing on the evangelism we can do in our preaching, on the theology we need to have in place and the practical areas we need to work on. David is a frequent visitor to UK conferences, and his input on preaching is always well received. He is the Principal and Director of the School of Preaching at SMBC, and his publications include the great resource,
How to Speak at Special Events.

In addition to David's main sessions, there will be three optional seminars...

> Evangelism among children and young people, with Trevor Pearce, Youth Worker at All Souls, Langham Place

> Evangelism and Easter in a traditional parish, with Richard Coombs, Vicar of St John the Baptist, Burford

> Evangelism and Apologetics, with Paul Clarke, evangelist on the staff of St Helen's, Bishopsgate

Cost £25 including lunch and refreshments. External students and apprentices, £15
