Oak Hill Theological College exists to serve local churches as they carry out the Great Commission of Jesus Christ, by training men and women in depth and breadth for word ministries in those churches.
The College is looking for someone to share in this as a teacher in Old Testament at advanced and other levels. This will include Hebrew tuition and exegesis, and supervising postgraduate students in Old Testament. The College places great emphasis on the importance of biblical languages for studying Old and New Testaments.
The person appointed will also be responsible for developing advanced modules in Old Testament, in consultation with the Principal and the Academic Dean. Modules in areas outside Old Testament may also be prepared and taught where appropriate.
The person appointed will be in agreement with the evangelical ethos of Oak Hill. The ideal candidate will:
> Possess a postgraduate qualification in Old Testament studies
> Have research experience and a record of publications in the field
> Have appropriate experience of, and commitment to, Christian ministry and pastoral leadership
> Have the ability to teach outside Old Testament studies
Remuneration and benefits are in line with the Lichfield Scale. The final salary will be negotiable, based on experience and qualifications.
There is a Genuine Occupational Requirement (GOR) that the post-holder is a Christian. Regulation 7(2)a of the Employment Equality (Religion or Belief) Regulations 2003 applies.
The College is an Associate College of Middlesex University. Oak Hill is accredited by the University to validate its own undergraduate and taught postgraduate programmes.
