| Youth and Children's Ministry: is this right for me? |
 |
You may help with youth or children's work in your local church and be considering possible training for a full-time role in Christian ministry.
You may have a particular interest in Christian work among children or young people.
You may already be involved in full or part-time youth or children's work in a church or school context, and be considering further training.
If you recognise yourself in any of these descriptions, then training in Youth and Children's Ministry at Oak Hill may be right for you. Applicants for the programme are considered regardless of their age.
The Youth and Children's Ministry Training programme will develop your thinking and your gifts so that you are able to bring a number of key qualities to your future ministry.
These key qualities include:
> Confidence in handling God's Word with children and young people.
> Skill in providing pastoral care.
> Maturity to encourage children or young people to relate to the entire body of Christ rather than being an isolated group within the local church.
> Leadership and training skills, coupled with sensitivity and respect for the volunteers who are working with you.
> Creativity in devising programmes for church-based youth or children's work.
> Learning to work for the minister and as a partner in the leadership of your church |
