Youth and Children's Ministry: programme outline
In all our programmes at Oak Hill, we want to provide training that is biblically rooted and framed and then applied in a contemporary and culturally relevant way.

You will study existing Oak Hill modules in biblical studies, doctrine and contemporary communication. For the Diploma of Higher Education (DipHE), this involves four biblical modules, where we aim to give you a comprehensive biblical theology. We also think it is important for all our students to have a good grasp of church history and systematic theology, as well as the ability to handle a biblical approach to ethics.

The DipHE forms the first and second year of the three year BA(Hons). In the third year, for the BA(Hons), you will be able to select modules to match your own particular areas of interest. For more details, and to see how these elements fit together, please order the Youth & Children's Ministry Prospectus – see below.

In the specific Youth and Children’s Ministry modules, we will apply the learning of the core modules to the particular needs of young people today. For example, having studied particular biblical set books in the general modules, you will then be trained in how to communicate effectively these to children and young people.

Three qualifications are on offer:

>
Certificate of Higher Education in Youth and Children’s Ministry – studied over one year full-time.

>
Diploma of Higher Education in Youth and Children’s Ministry – studied over two years full-time.

>
Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Youth and Children’s Ministry – studied over three years full-time.

The programmes leading to all three qualifications are validated by Oak Hill College, under accreditation by Middlesex University.

Are there part-time options? We have designed the programme to be as flexible as possible. If you would like to consider studying on a part-time basis over a longer time period, please ask us for details. Alternatively, you may want to audit individual modules, which means sitting in on the teaching programme, but without having tutorials or course work evaluated. Ask us for more details, if this option might suit you.
