Doctrine I

Flexible Learning module

As one theologian put it, ‘Theology is taught by God, teaches God and leads to God.’

‍This module introduces students to the importance of systematic theology for understanding and explaining key elements of the Gospel presented to us in the Bible. Students will learn how some key doctrines (e.g. God, creation and the person of Christ) are significant for pastoral ministry and how they help us to worship and glorify God.

Together with Doctrine II these modules introduce the major topics of Christian theology. Structured around the Apostle's Creed and attending to the 'cloud of witnesses' gone before, the course invites us to listen to the biblical text by framing the key moments of the gospel as the unfolding work of the Triune God. This process forms us and equips us to form others in the pursuit of Christian faith, hope, and love.”
