John’s Gospel & the Johannine Epistles (BL4.9)

In a way unique among the Gospels, John holds out Jesus Christ as the object of faith and the source of eternal life.

The Johannine Epistles continue to apply this Gospel of Christ to the early churches. In this module students have the opportunity to engage deeply with these Johannine texts in order to grow as competent interpreters and effective communicators of the theological truth they hold out to us.

This module will assume a reasonable grasp of Christian theology and will aim to reflect on how John’s Gospel contributes to the theology and practice of the church.
