Oak Hill recently underwent its six-yearly Periodic External Review (PER, formerly known as the Bishops’ Inspection) with the Church of England. The outcome of the review has now been published on the Church of England website.
Mike Ovey, our Principal at the time, said: ‘The PER Report was very positive: The College was commended in a number of areas, including the warmth and openness of our community life; the excellent standard of teaching, in particular the biblical languages; the quality of our formation, including chapel, fellowship groups and the placements scheme; support for student spouses; and an effective learning environment.
‘There were also 13 recommendations focusing on areas in which the review team felt we could improve, for example, continuing to foster diversity and creativity in our worship and in fellowship together; continuing to monitor workload and the volume of assessment; and developing creative partnerships with local dioceses and the national church. The College is currently hard at work on an action plan for these areas, working in conjunction with the College Council, and we would be grateful for your prayers as we consider how best to implement the recommendations.’
