Following a successful Postgraduate Programmes Review, part of a standard pattern of programme review and revalidation, the information provided here about the MTheol Theology has been approved by Middlesex University and is now awaiting final validation (expected in April 2022). The revalidated postgraduate programmes will offer a broader range of elective modules, especially in the areas of doctrine, church history and practical ministry, along with modules which are designed to integrate theological disciplines.

Requirements for Anglican ordinands (third year entry)
In addition to the standard components of Years 3 and 4 set out above, you will complete a suite of placements and will also study a selection of modules at Levels 4 and 5 to provide specific Anglican training (as approved by the Church of England). This will normally comprise MP1.7, BM2.1, MP2.3, MP2.7 and may include MP2.8:
These requirements are in addition to the standard components of Years 3 and 4, and so, over the two years of training, you would be required to over-credit by a total of 20 credits.
Please note
Elective modules are offered subject to viability (based on class size) and the College reserves the right to withdraw an elective module if there is insufficient interest; not all elective modules are offered every year.
Part time students: if you wish to study Hebrew as one of your elective modules in your CertHE year, please note that the constraints of the part time pathways are such that you will automatically have to over-credit by 10 credits. To avoid this, you may wish to defer your study of Hebrew to your DipHE year (ie Year 3 of 4).
These are the modules running in 2022/23. This is a provisional list and is subject to change (electives and tutors). For a full list of the elective modules which are potentially available in any given year, please see the Programme Specification.

Only Years 1 and 2 of the MTheol may be done part time (over 4 years).
Part time students start on either Year A or Year B depending on which year they start their academic programme. The academic year 2022/23 is Year A, meaning that part time students entering in 2022/23 will take Year A compulsory modules in 2022/23.
These are the compulsory modules running in 2022/23. For a full list of the elective modules, which are potentially available in any given year, please see the Programme Specification.
