Revd Melanie Lacy, MA

Director of the Theology and Praxis for Children's and Youth Ministry stream

Mel is thrilled to be involved with the formation and training of men and women to serve in the local church to facilitate the passing on of the great truths of God to the next generation. Her vision is to see young people equipped to share their faith with those around them.

Mel has been involved in biblical youth and children’s ministry and training for many years. She has had a longstanding involvement in the Keswick Youth Ministry Programme, the Word Alive and New Word Alive Youth Programmes, as well as Soul Truth in Ireland. Mel has served as a deacon in the Church of Ireland, and more recently as a youth minister in St John’s, Knutsford, Cheshire. She also enjoyed serving with Crosslinks Mission Agency as the Ireland team leader, in between her periods of service in the local church.

In September 2018, Mel became the Executive Director of a new charity called Growing Young Disciples. This new work will seek to develop the ministry of the Growing Young Disciples conference, as well as cultivating new initiatives designed to train, equip and resource parents and those who serve in children’s and youth ministry in the local church. She will continue to be Director of the TCY stream within the College’s undergraduate programmes and be fully involved in teaching the stream for the years 2018/19 and 2019/20.

Mel loves to travel, entertain, and spend time with friends, family and her wonderful godchildren. She loves musicals and all things theatrical and can occasionally be found getting up to mischief, too!
