Oak Hill

David was a student at Oak Hill in 2011-14, and became convinced of the value of theological training that equips students to be carefully attentive to God’s word and to apply it in faithful and adaptable ways to the life of the church and the world.

After three years in Cambridge working on a PhD in New Testament studies, David returned to Oak Hill part-time, exploring the value of Greek for attentive listening to God’s word, and the ways in which the New Testament itself models the faithful and adaptable proclamation of the gospel. He also worked part-time as the Theological Adviser of the FIEC (the Fellowship of Independent Evangelical Churches).

David now teaches full-time at Oak Hill. He is the editor of Primer magazine, and works with the FIEC to help train the next generation of pastors for independent churches ministry.

While in Cambridge, David was an elder at Grace Church Cambridge, and has previously worked for City Church, Birmingham. He has published articles in the Journal for the Study of the New Testament, Currents in Biblical Research, Themelios, and Churchman.

David is married to Jo and they have four children. He spends Saturday mornings trying to perfect the breakfast pancake.
