Introducing the Foundation Award in Theology, Ministry and Mission
20 March 2025

Are you eager to deepen your faith, develop your theological thinking, or equip yourself for ministry—but need something flexible, accessible, and affordable? Oak Hill College is thrilled to launch the Foundation Award in Theology, Ministry and Mission, a brand-new online course designed to make theological education available to anyone, anywhere!
This exciting two-year programme provides an engaging introduction to Christian theology, making it the perfect starting point if you've never studied theology before or if you’re looking to build on previous training. With credits that can be carried forward into further study, it’s a fantastic stepping stone for those who want to take their theological learning to the next level. But it’s also a rich learning experience in its own right, equipping you to grow in your faith and ministry—whether in your local church, community, or workplace.
Flexible Study That Fits Your Life
One of the standout features of the Foundation Award is its flexibility. Whether you’re balancing work, ministry, family, or other commitments, this course is designed to fit into your schedule. Operating entirely online, you can study whenever it suits you, wherever you are in the world. You’ll learn through a combination of self-study and engaging discussions with a community of fellow students, supported by Oak Hill’s expert faculty.
With three 10-week modules per year, we recommend around 8-10 hours of study per week, which can be done in one full day, spread over evenings, or tackled on weekends.
What Will You Study?
Over the course of two years, you’ll dive into six fascinating 10-credit modules that will ground you in key areas of Christian theology, ministry, and mission:
- Prayer and discipleship – Your journey starts here, growing in your own walk with Christ.
- How to read and teach the Bible – Gain the tools to understand and communicate God’s Word effectively.
- The foundations of our faith – Explore core doctrines that have shaped Christian belief.
- Evangelism and mission – Learn how to share the gospel in different contexts.
- An in-depth study of a New Testament book – Get to grips with the message and theology of Scripture.
- A focus on a particular people group – Study how to minister effectively to children, youth, refugees, or the elderly.
