Announcement of new appointment at Oak Hill College: Revd Dr Luke Foster
13 February 2024
With great joy, we announce the appointment of Revd Dr Luke Foster as Tutor in Systematic Theology and Church History to join the team here at Oak Hill. Luke comes to north London with a fascinating range of experience in pastoral ministry and theological education, both in the UK and more widely. For the last year, he has served bi-vocationally, ministering in a church and also engaged in training. Before that he taught for eight years at the Centre for Pastoral Studies in Santiago, Chile.
Luke says ‘In John 15 Jesus declares that ‘Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.’ I love the way that this call to abide in Jesus and bear fruit for Jesus makes itself felt at Oak Hill – both in the classroom and in the wider community life together. I am really excited to share in the ministry of Oak Hill as it seeks to form leaders who love the Lord Jesus and who are equipped for a lifetime of ministry in which this love overflows to those around them. As we study Church History and Systematic Theology we are seeking to join in with the whole church – throughout history and around the world! – as it seeks to listen to the way the whole Bible speaks of Jesus. What a joy to be involved in this as part of the community at Oak Hill’.
We are looking forward to all that Luke will contribute to the teaching and formation of students at Oak Hill, as we continue to develop our vision to train and sustain Christlike leaders of all kinds who are trustworthy with God's word and who love people.
Luke will take up his post for the start of the new academic year in September 2024. Please pray with us for the Lord's blessing on him, his wife Mary, and their two children as they prepare for this move.
