Equipping Christians to Share the Gospel This Christmas
10 December 2024
On Saturday November 16th, Passion for Evangelism and Oak Hill College teamed up to offer a practical workshop designed to help women craft engaging evangelistic talks for Christmas events called “Finding Your Voice.”
With over 30 in the room at Oak Hill and 20 online, speakers included Sarah Dawkins from Torch Trust asking how we can connect Christ with the season, Oak Hill College Principal James Robson on the craft of communicating well and Kristi Mair powerfully looked at the topic of failure.
In addition to the training, small group mentoring allowed participants to deliver a 5-7 minute pre-prepared talk and receive valuable feedback. The mentoring now continues beyond the workshop, with participants offered ongoing informal support via Zoom or WhatsApp to help them refine their talks ahead of any Christmas event.
One participant said it was “Great to have gentle, encouraging and Godly wisdom in how to prepare a talk well” whilst another reflected on the group time saying it was “So wonderful to see grace and kindness on display as our group gave helpful and honest reflections on talks.”
It is incredibly exciting to think of the thousands of people who will hear the gospel with talks prepared at this event. One woman told us: "I'm speaking at our wreath event on Saturday 30th and Carols by Candlelight service on 15th December. Prayers really appreciated! The day at Oak Hill was so valuable to me.”
