- When is the course?:
- The course will run for 12 weeks on Tuesdays from 10.15am-12 pm.
The course starts on 17th September and runs until 17th December. There are break weeks on 29th October and 26th November. - Who is this course for?:
- This course is for church leaders or keen volunteers who would like to understand our digital world better and be equipped for ministry in a changing world. It is also suitable for those working as professionals within Christian ministry.
It is open for students outside of the UK. - How does it work?:
- Each week will consist of two 50 minute interactive lectures. There are then about 3-4 hours a week of flexible work which will include reading (provided), engagement in the online discussions and watching additional content.
Students are expected to attend all classes online via Zoom and interact in the week on the online forums. - Cost:
- This course including access to our digital learning platform costs £300 for the 12 week course. Alumni can access one course for free each academic year. Select this box on your application.
In this course we are going to consider some key terms and ideas, examine various approaches that Christians take to digital life as well as looking at some of the philosophies behind recent advances in technology and AI. Together we will then reflect on how that speaks to us theologically and what might help us to think about these issues. Some related topics will be explored around sexual ethics, mission, ministry, parenting, and leadership.
Everyday life and Christian ministry have changed enormously over the last 5 years, and it has left a lot of us bewildered and floundering in how to live for Jesus in this new world. Many of us are confused, even frightened, or simply wondering if we’re missing out on lots of opportunities for discipleship and evangelism.
