Applying to Oak Hill

Admissions for September 2024 entry will open in Autumn 2023.  If you would like us to let you know when the details here have been updated and applications are open, do let us know here.

If you're interested in full or part time study, on an undergraduate or postgraduate programme, the following information lets you know how the application process and timings worked for 2023 entry and therefore gives a good guide as to what to expect for next year's process.  Information will be updated for the next admissions cycle in the autumn.

Our Admissions Policy governs our admissions process; you can see the full policy, and our Student Enquirers Privacy Notice at the bottom of this page.

Flexible Learning modules

1. Attend an open morning

We'd love to meet you in person and start to get to know you, and the best way to do that is to come to an Open Morning.  You'll get a much better feel in person for our ethos, student experience and training and you'll have plenty of opportunity to ask your questions.  Visit our open morning page to see the in-person and Zoom options for 2022/23.

2. Submit application

Submit your application and sending minister reference at the same time. Check all the key dates to ensure you apply in good time; and see what's involved to ensure you give yourself enough time to complete the application.  We interview all applicants who meet the basic admissions criteria. Applications must be submitted at least two weeks prior to an interview day.

3. Interview day

An interview day includes an interview with a faculty member, an opportunity to hear more about our programmes and ethos, to discuss your accommodation needs and financial situation, and to chat with current students.  You can also join in chapel when it's on.  We are offering a mixture of in-person interview dates and Zoom interview dates. Take a look at the interview day dates that work for you to decide when you need to apply.

4. Offer

Normally you should expect to hear from us within five working days of your interview day as to whether we are offering you a place.

5. Accept offer and apply for accommodation; submit bursary application

Let us know by the agreed date whether you’d like to accept the offer and, if you do, you can also apply for accommodation. Key dates to note:

  • To be considered for the first phase of allocation for married accommodation, you must apply by 12noon Thursday 30 March 2023
  • To be guaranteed single accommodation, you must apply by 12noon Wednesday 24 May 2023

When you accept an offer, you can also submit your application for either an Access Bursary or a Partnership Bursary (subject to eligibility criteria).  The closing date for applying for each bursary is:

  • Access Bursary: 12noon Monday 3 July 2023
  • Partnership Bursary: 12noon Monday 17 July 2023

6. Meeting conditions

All applicants must complete a financial assurances form and meet its conditions before being able to study. We may place other conditions on your offer as well, so please make sure you are aware of these and respond appropriately.

7. Assured place

Once you’ve accepted an offer and met all the conditions, you’ll be given an assured place. This means you can then be formally considered for College accommodation.

8. Preparing for arrival

From May, we start asking those with an assured place to complete various forms and from late June/early July we'll give you your Oak Hill email account details so that you can access online a wealth of new student welcome information. Some forms are to be completed by 12noon Tuesday 8 August 2023; other things you'll be asked to do before Welcome Week which starts on Monday 4 September 2023.
