The history, theology and piety of English Puritans in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries rightly remains a subject of keen interest and relevance. In this module students survey the development and decline of the early modern Puritan movement, explore some significant ecclesiastical and theological controversies, encounter Puritan devotional literature and evaluate the ways in which the legacy of the Puritans has shaped modern Evangelical identity.
