Reading Biblical Hebrew

In order to work competently with most Old Testament Hebrew narrative texts it is necessary to build a deeper knowledge of vocabulary, grammar and syntax and to develop skill in various aspects of exegesis. This module provides students with guided opportunities to practice these Hebrew exegetical skills by reading quickly, reading slowly, and by using a range of helpful tools in order to move from exegesis toward theological reflection, sermons or talks.

This module builds on first year Hebrew, sharpening students’ knowledge of the language so that they might teach/preach narrative texts with a sensitivity to their texture and design in the original language.”
