This module will consider what the digital sphere is and how it impacts our ministry for good and for bad. We will approach it theologically to think about what it says about the body and the physical reality of existence, as well as other key doctrines. There will also be some thought to sociological impact and relevant studies as well as how technology has been absorbed and adapted historically and culturally.
There will be application to ministry around how we might use new technologies wisely or what might make us reject them entirely. Some examples of creative evangelism and pastoral care will be examined. There will be some consideration of Artificial Intelligence and its implications for ministry and ethics. This is a module which will help you to begin to navigate ministry in the 21st century, whatever you end up doing.
Some lectures will be delivered onsite and some remotely, making use of various digital tools to enable full participation in both places.
