Pastoral Ministry II

Programme module

Cultivating healthy spiritual growth in church life is central to the task of pastoral ministry. This module leads students to integrate a biblical anthropology and ecclesiology in order to think carefully and specifically about how to foster sanctification and discipleship in various facets of congregational life (e.g. shepherding, counselling, interacting with leadership teams, dealing with issues such as depression, marriage and sexuality, crisis management, terminal illness and bereavement).

Church is Jesus' frontline, and in real life it's often complicated. Drawing together themes from other modules, and using realistic case studies, we will explore how biblical counselling shapes a church culture and how Scripture informs and shapes our response to the church's contemporary challenges."
