Oak Hill offers a number of bursaries to enable a wide range of students to access theological training.

Bursary applications open in the Spring each year. You will need to have applied and received an offer in order to apply then.

Please be aware that bursaries are not available for our Foundation Award or the MA in Contemporary Christian Leadership.

Restricted Bursary Funding

We are delighted to be able to offer financial support through a Charitable Trust Fund, which provides full tuition coverage for two full-time students or four part-time students for their first year of tuition fees. This fund is dedicated to supporting students who may otherwise face challenges in securing funding for their studies. Preference is given to applicants who:

Face difficulty accessing financial support from other sources and

  • are preparing for careers in youth and children’s work following their training at Oak Hill, or

  • are committed to serving in under-resourced areas.

This bursary is means tested.

Partnership Bursary

New students for whom studying at Oak Hill would be their first undergraduate qualification may apply for a Partnership Bursary. With this bursary, the College would consider matching the support pledged to you both by your church and by individual supporters (excluding family members), up to a maximum of £10,000 for full time students and £5,000 for part time students. This would be reviewed annually for the duration of your programme.

Closing the Gap Bursary

We don’t want a lack of funding or support to stop a student from completing their studies at Oak Hill.

When students have explored all other funding sources (which we are pleased to help you investigate), they can apply for a Closing the Gap Bursary. The maximum a student can receive is usually £3,000 and there are four application points throughout the year for current Oak Hill students. This bursary can be used towards either fees or living costs - it is to help pay for unexpected costs or unexpected drops in income.

More details about this bursary is available once a student has started at college.

Raising Financial Support

At Oak Hill, we believe that the church deserves leaders who are theologically educated. We know that the training required to equip a person effectively for long-term ministry requires an investment of time and money, and that fundraising for that training takes time.
