We have specific bursaries designed to support those for which studying would be their first undergraduate degree.
Oak Hill offers a number of bursaries to enable a wide range of students to access theological training.
You can find out more about them here.
Three of our programmes may be completed either without a visa or as a Standard Visitor to the UK:
Foundation Award - as it is delivered fully online
Part time PGCert - as it is studied over one semester
MA in Contemporary Christian Leadership - as most of the study happens online with occasional residential weeks
Our Short Courses can also often be studied from overseas.
For other programmes, you need the right to study in the UK.

We use an online portal for our applications for our main programmes.
You will create an account which saves your progress as you go.
There are a number of required questions and you will need some documents to hand including your ID, a certificate or transcript for your highest qualification, a certificate for an approved test if English is not your first language and a photo.
If you have any questions whilst filling in the form please contact our Admissions team here.
Applications close in early summer each year. Specific closing dates are found on each programme page.
For Short Courses you apply using a short form on each courses page.
For all programmes we need a reference from your church leader before we proceed with an application.
We then need additional references depending on your programme.
Foundation Award - only your minister/pastor
Undergraduate/Postgraduate - We take up a minimum of three references for each applicant. You will be asked to give details of two referees (in addition to your sending vicar/pastor) who know you well and have known you for at least two years.
MACCL - we take up two references from each applicant. Your minister/pastor and then from a person you work closely with.
We conduct interviews for all our programmes, except for Foundation Award applicants who meet the standard entry requirements.
You can see the dates for these for 2026 entry here.
These can be taken in person at Oak Hill or online.
All our MA in Contemporary Christian Leadership interviews are online.
Undergraduate (CertHE, DipHE, BA(Hons) students and postgraduate Church of England ordinands have placements as part of their courses. They are a compulsory part of the qualification.
We work with the student to find a church placement suitable for them.
Normally, Church of England ordinands do their weekly placement in one church for the first year, and a different church for the second year, and independent students usually stay in one for both years.
For those of you with families, we want to encourage you to get stuck in to these placements as a family if at all possible and learn and be enriched and serve together.
Part time students normally undertake their placements in churches with whom they are already connected.
You can find out more about placements on our info sheet here.
At this moment in time we do not offer a PhD programme at Oak Hill.
Part time study allows you to remain more rooted in your current church, communities, or jobs, and also enables many students to help fund their studies by continuing to work.
For churches, it means they can enable men and women to access training while continuing to benefit from their ministry and mentoring them within the church.
No. Our short courses are designed to continue to grow you as you minister in your existing context. They are not assessed and we do not offer specific awards for them.

We offer two broad types of on-site accommodation:
Tenancy Agreements for properties ranging in size from 1-bedroom flats through to 4-bedroom houses each normally occupied by a single household.
Licence to Occupy Agreements for shared accommodation where each student has their own study bedroom and shares common areas such as bathroom, kitchen and living room.
Some students decide to stay in their own home or source their own rental property locally.
You can see the current charges for accommodation to give you an indication of costs here.
We have a dedicated Additional Needs officer who works with students from the point of application and throughout their time at college.
We also have specific funding available for those who need support or equipment during their time at college.
You have the opportunity to declare any additional support needs on your application form and have a conversation with our Additional Needs Officer at an interview day.
All students also take part in dedicated Study Skills sessions throughout their time at college.
