What you'll learn
Explore the Christian doctrine of God in depth through this rich and engaging short course. The course will seek to respond to and be shaped by Scripture’s call to know God. We will begin by considering the attributes of God before turning our attention to the doctrine of the Trinity and its significance for faith, ministry and contemporary Christian life. Drawing on Scripture, historical theology and systematic reflection, students will engage critically with key theological texts and traditions, examine classical and contemporary approaches to understanding God, and consider how doctrine shapes worship, spirituality and practice. Alongside careful study of biblical foundations and major theological voices, the course encourages thoughtful engagement with contemporary questions and equips students to integrate deeper doctrinal reflection into their own discipleship, leadership and ministry.
Each week will consist of a three-hour interactive lecture. Student preparation will be expected based on the set reading for each week and any additional online activities. Alongside the 3 hour lectures each week there are around 8 hours of reading each week. As this is a non-accredited short course there are no assignments to be completed
Students are expected to attend all classes and interact on the online forums between lectures.
This course can be taken in person or online.
